Jacquie, I think you must have been sleeping for the past year. Did you not read the announcement that we are no longer publishing "The Inner Horseman"?

As of this year, anyone who wishes to take out an Associate Membership in Equine Studies Institute has two choices:

1. Any one back issue of "The Inner Horseman", Year 2001-2007 inclusive; or

2. The "audio podcast" which is a double-CD set of audio lessons from me.

As has always been the case, ESI memberships are good for the year in which we receive payment. In other words, if you purchase an Associate Membership on December 31st, 2008 -- or any other day in 2008 -- you will be enrolled for membership for 2008. You understand that this makes no material difference in the benefit you receive; it is not like a magazine subscription where you might miss some issues.

Also not like a magazine subscription is that we do not carry your membership over into the next year; in other words, you have to re-up each calendar year. It does not matter when in that calendar year you take your Associate Membership out.

Associate Memberships are normally purchased by using the PayPal buttons in the "Join/Subscribe" section of our main website at http://www.equinestudies.org. This is particularly handy for those overseas, because it is totally free of any fee for the necessary currency exchange.

Alternatively, we will accept payment in U.S. dollars only/check drawn on a U.S. bank in U.S. dollars, or International Money Order or Cashier's Check made out in U.S. dollars. Make the check payable to "Equine Studies Institute" and mail it to:

Equine Studies Institute

P.O. Box 411

Livingston, CA 95334 USA

Thanks for your interest in our work, Jacquie, and I hope this serves to answer your question and make the whole process simple and easy. -- Dr. Deb

Gosh I hadn't reaslised I had been a member for so long - has my membership has run out then? I did not know that.

I THOUGHT it had been a while since I got anything and I just had not realised I had been a member for so long that I needed to renew!

I work very long and often totally unsociable hours in the field as an ecologist specialising in bats, radio tracking, mist netting, harp trapping and doing transect surveys for bats too and have very little time for 'extras' - like reading, as obviously my horses need my attention too -  once I have finished with the bats!

Thankfully the hectic summer season is nearly over and once October starts, things will get a lot easier with the field work - just the reports to catch up on then!!

Anyway, I am not complaining, my work is really interesting and very varied, taking me all over the UK and into France as well.

All that said, by way of explanation of my strange inability to know if I am still a member here or not, I have now just renewed my membership! I look forward to receiving some more literature to broaden my understanding of all things horsey

Jacquie
