Dear People: We have just confirmed our horsemanship clinic in Libby, MT for June 29-July 1. This is a delightful opportunity hosted by good and experienced folks. They are limiting participation to only a few riders so as to guarantee a lot of individual attention. We will be working on the stuff I always emphasize -- Birdie and controlling your horse's attention/emotions so that you start getting "deep control"; straightness, how to develop that through both physical and deeper means; and the beginnings of collection. Depending on rider abilities and their particular needs and concerns, we may also get into some other areas -- wherever it takes us.
As always with my events, 50% of the time will be mounted, and 50% in the classroom. I bring specially prepared powerpoint shows that address Birdie, Straightness, and some things about the horse's peculiar anatomy so that you can understand the physical mechanisms that underlie straightness and collection. All participants receive a handout package.
There will be some fun evenings with cameraderie, food, and maybe even some homemade music. The setting in Libby is about as beautiful as it gets. Spectators are welcome up to the limit set by organizers, and as always spectators receive the same instruction and handouts as riders -- they just don't get the one-on-one attention to their horse.
